RESUMEN: La universidad cubana tiene la misión de formar profesionales con independencia y creatividad,

dotados de valores éticos, acorde con el desarrollo científico-técnico que se experimenta en el mundo. La

Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas (UCI) cumple con su encargo social, se involucra con la comunidad y

asume el papel creciente que le corresponde. La Cátedra Martiana de la UCI, a partir de la promoción de

actividades, logró situarse en el centro del trabajo educativo y contribuir a la formación de profesionales

integrales, además de propiciar el vínculo necesario entre comunidad y universidad. Por tanto, constituyó un

espacio clave para la formación integral de los estudiantes a partir del trabajo instructivo educativo que se

desarrolló desde esta. De ahí que el objetivo de este trabajo es describir la contribución de la Cátedra Martiana

de la UCI al encargo social de la universidad mediante la formación integral de los futuros profesionales. Los

métodos y técnicas utilizadas fueron del nivel teórico analítico-sintético, inductivo-deductivo, histórico-lógico,

análisis documental, testimonios, así como la triangulación de fuentes de información y de métodos; y del nivel

empírico la observación y la entrevista.

ABSTRACT: The Cuban university has the mission of training professionals with independence and creativity,

endowed with ethical values, in accordance with the scientific-technical development experienced in the world.

The University of Informatics Sciences (UCI) fulfills its social responsibility, gets involved with the community and

assumes the growing role that corresponds to it. The Cátedra Martiana of the UCI, through the promotion of

activities, managed to place itself at the center of educational work and contribute to the training of

comprehensive professionals, in addition to fostering the necessary link between community and university.

Therefore, it constituted a key space for the comprehensive training of students based on the educational

instructional work that was developed from it. Hence, the objective of this work is to describe the contribution of

the Martiana Chair of the UCI to the social responsibility of the university through the comprehensive training of

future professionals. The methods and techniques used were of the analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive,

historical-logical theoretical level, documentary analysis, testimonies, as well as the triangulation of information

sources and methods; and at the empirical level, observation and interview.
