RESUMEN: El artículo aborda los resultados de un estudio de caso sobre

el consumo de literatura en los adolescentes de Cayo Hueso, en La

Habana. Explora las particularidades que tiene el consumo de literatura

de un grupo de adolescentes, y analiza el papel desempeñado por la

familia y la escuela, en tanto agentes mediadores de gran influencia. El

artículo devela entre sus resultados que los adolescentes estudiados

identifican la lectura con las obligaciones escolares. Al concluir se aprecia

un mayor conocimiento acerca de los intereses, preferencias y

motivaciones literarias de los sujetos estudiados y su vínculo con las

nuevas tecnologías de la información.

ABSTRACT: The article deals with the results of a case study on the

consumption of literature in adolescents in Cayo Hueso, in Havana. It

explores the particularities that the consumption of literature of a group of

adolescents has, and analyzes the role played by the family and the

school, as mediators agents of great influence. The article reveals among

its results that the adolescents studied identify reading with school

obligations. At the end, there is a greater knowledge about the interests,

preferences and literary motivations of the subjects studied and their link

with the new information technologies.
