Abstract

e myth of perfect health that surrounds genetics allows the analysis of the

recommendations of the World Health Organization for genetic counseling and genetic

tests shows that bioethics must be vigilant in its application. e bioethical implications of

genetics in Latin America: the relationship between scientic power and human rights in

the particular conditions of this continent is analyzed. In particular the abuse of the rights

of people in non-democratic societies.

e concept of “human” is very complicated because it is a structure that is inuenced by

all aspects of culture. It exists in a way that is highly relevant to philosophy, ethics, bioethics,

and law.
