RESUMEN: La redacción científica constituye un ámbito esencial de la producción, socialización y

transformación del conocimiento científico. Saber comunicar los resultados de investigación es un requisito

fundamental en la carrera de todo investigador o docente, e incluso representa un elemento central en la

evaluación y legitimación de su desempeño profesional. El complejo sendero de hacer y escribir la ciencia

(proceso contextualizado social y culturalmente) implica pensar cómo se forman hoy los cientistas sociales en

Cuba, qué lugar ocupa la redacción científica en su formación, qué factores obstaculizan su producción

científica y qué retos enfrentan para visibilizar sus temas a nivel internacional. A partir de la interrelación entre

las categorías ciencia-sociedad-conocimiento científico, el objetivo de este texto es analizar los aspectos

institucionales, sociales y culturales del trabajo científico que repercuten en la redacción científica de los

cientistas sociales cubanos.

ABSTRACT: Scientific writing constitutes an essential area of the production, socialization and transformation

of the scientific knowledge. Knowing how to communicate research results is a fundamental requirement in the

career of every researcher or lecturer, and even represents a central element in the evaluation and

legitimization of their professional performance. The complex path of doing and writing science (a socially and

culturally contextualized process) implies thinking about how social scientists are trained today in Cuba, what

place does scientific writing occupy in their training, what factors hinder their scientific production and what

challenges they face to make their topics visible at the international level. From the interrelation between the

categories science-society-scientific knowledge, the objective of this text is to analyze the institutional, social

and cultural aspects of scientific work that have an impact on the scientific writing of Cuban social scientists.
